What can you tell us about yourself / this website?
I first found out about Papillon Rose sometime in 2001 when I was going around the internet. I found a website with an image from the series and something about it being like Revolutionary Girl Utena and Sailor Moon. I thought the characters looked cool, and I liked both of the series mentioned, so I decided to check it out.
I had ended up saving some pictures and .mp3s from the official website at the time, then forgot about it for the longest while until sometime in 2003 when I decided to go looking for the songs because I really liked them. At this point I had a Livejournal account and ended up joining the Papillon Rose Community there. Back then I didn't know very much about the series, and owned no merchandise. So I asked a lot of questions and posted a lot when I did find something on the internet.
Eventually I bought the OVA DVD from Pinkco and bought the soundtrack from OfficeF&O. I started contributing to the community by making icons and trying to transliterate the lyrics to the songs from the series into romaji (although rather poorly at the time since I knew nothing about kanji). I even started a fansite using free web space from a host called Free-Host (I don't believe they exist anymore).
In November of 2003 I decided to finally get a domain name of my own, I ended up deciding on TsubomiKoneko.com because around that time I had changed my online journal name (and pretty much nickname) to Tsubomi, after the main character in Papillon Rose. Prior I had been known as Sakura Koneko, which is where the Koneko part of Tsubomi Koneko comes from. At first I had some problems, as the host I signed up with didn't give me my information, so I signed up with someone else and ended up getting my money back from the original place (after about 130 days...).
At that time I was faced with the need to make content for my website. I started making icons and wallpapers, took screenshots from the episode, put up my transliterations of the song lyrics, and even offered some downloads for a while. I eventually started buying more and more Papillon Rose merchandise, scanning what I could and putting up information about each of the things for anyone who decided that they wanted to try to but them.
And now, nearly four years later, here I am updating my website still (although rather infrequently). There's still tons of information that needs to be translated, but I know it will over time. And I've become friends with people who are doing translations, who have given me the allowance to use their translations on my website. I still do screenshots, scans, and transliterations (I'm rather excited about the TV series songs, you can find those lyrics up in the lyrics section. It's the newest set of lyrics I've gotten to play with for the series since the last soundtrack was released back in 2005).
I will continue to keep this website up for as long as I am able/willing to stand doing so, and hopefully you all enjoy everything you find here. I look forward to seeing your comments and suggestions about what you see here and what I should do with the site in the future.
I've seen it called 'Lingerie Fighter Papillon Rose', why do you use 'Soldier'?
The logo for Papillon Rose is most commonly written 'ランジェリー戦士パピヨンローゼ' (if the Japanese doesn't show correctly, please check the view tab on your browser under character encoding for Unicode UTF-8), which comes out in romaji as "RANJERII Senshi PAPIYON ROOZE", the three capitalized words being 'Lingerie', 'Papillon', and 'Rose', loanwords from other languages. 'Senshi' can be translated in different ways (though they all mean the same in the end): 'fighter', 'combatant', 'warrior', and 'soldier' are some examples. The reason I use 'soldier' is because it is the only English equivelant that has ever been used in place of 'senshi' on the official Japanese merchandise.
I've seen --- (enter name here)'s name spelt --- (enter variant here), why do you spell it the way you do?
A very complicated question. There have been lots of different spellings of the Papillon Senshi's names in the past, some of which coming from even the official website. In the end I decided to go with the ones that were most commonly used. Rose has never been spelled differently. Lily hasn't been either, but in her attack it is said as "Liliya" (リーリヤ) which can cause some confusion. Margarette was spelled as "Marguerite" in the original Papillon Rose Archive book and during the very first few months of the official website being up (2000), but was then changed to "Margarette" from the R season onwards (2002). Her attacks use "Marguerite", using the katakana 'マルグリット', matching the name of the flower, while her name "Margarette" uses 'マーガレット', which is a derivation of "Marguerite". Violet's name has never been spelled differently, but her attacks use Violetta (バイオレッタ). Enigmaopoeia decided that Dahlia should be called "Dalia" for various reasons but I have personally decided to leave it as "Dahlia". Petite-Rose could be seen spelled as "Petit-Rose" on the official website, which was a mistake because "Petit" is the masculine form of the word, while Petite-Rose is a girl. I however absolutely understand the mistake as it is something fairly commonly seen when the Japanese try to use the word, the anime, Le Portrait de Petite Cossette is one good example. There are other cases in which the official website has caused some confusion, like in the case of Sister Pchela (シスター･プチラー) which was spelled as 'Puttirar' during the first few months the official website was up, which caused the English speaking community to call her "Petite-La". It was later decided that her name was "Pchela" (Russian for bee) in order to fit the bee theme of the other enemy names from the ONA/OVA storyline. I'm sure there's a lot of other things I could explain about names and different spellings, but I can't think of them at the current moment. Feel free to ask about anything that wasn't discussed here.

Where can I download the ONA/R season/G movie?
You can't, technically speaking. The season known as the ONA (Original Net Animation) was never really animated, the only thing that can be offered up is summaries of the 'episodes' and one or two 'screenshots' to go along with them. The same thing goes for the R season (second season) and the G movie. The only things that were ever animated was one OVA (Original Video Animation) episode which followed around the same storyline as the ONA did (Regina Apis and Dinasty) and then a TV series called "Papillon Rose New Season" which takes place after the events in the OVA/ONA and has some drastic changes made to the characters.
Where can I download the OVA and TV series?
I personally can't help you with that, so please don't end up e-mailing me asking me for any information about where to download things. You can buy the DVDs of these things from different places though, the only problem is that there are no English subtitles and you have to use a Region 2 DVD player to watch them (there are computer programs that will over-ride the region encoding making the DVDs watchable from any computer with a DVD player in it). I saw the OVA episode, and then the TV series. So much is different! Why?
It depends on what you have a problem with being different. If you're wondering what happened to Hikaru / Dandy Lion you can find out about it right here, and that will pretty much fill you in about what else happened prior to the TV series as well. As for the character changes, those were probably made in order to make the series more marketable as a television series. As much fun as it is that Tsubomi is a complete floozy in the original series, it would have probably made the television series unable to be aired if they kept everything the way it was. As it stands they already ended up adding in some of the 'pervertedness' that Papillon Rose is known for in the DVD releases of the first three episodes of the TV series. Generally speaking, it's not the Papillon Rose you're used to, but not all of the changes are bad.
Can you upload all the soundtracks for me? Please?
Nope, sorry. If you go to the shopping links section you can find all the information you need to purchase the soundtracks if they are still available to be sold from the companies that released them. Good luck!

Most likely the person came to my site, liked what they saw, and decided to share it with other people. I've had to disable hotlinking from my website because of problems like this in the past (I once had someone hotlink 90% of my website on their Livejournal instead of just putting a link to the website!). While I personally don't mind people using some things from my website (within reason), I'd still prefer they'd credit me for the scanning, editing, or screenshotting of the images and transliterating the lyrics. I'd feel even better if they'd contact me about it prior so I knew about it instead of just stumbling across it at some point during my internet travels.
